Blood Transfusion Services division plays a vital role to ensure access to safe Blood and Blood components through network of 173 Blood Centres (47 Government, 7 Military, 119 Private) which includes 131 Blood Component Separation Units. Out of 131 BCSU, 26 are in Government Sector. There are 47 Blood Storage Centres in Punjab.
Blood and Blood Components are being provided free to the patents in all Public Health Institutions Punjab (i.e. DH’s, SDH’s, CHC’s, PHC’s & Govt. Medical Colleges)
